Medicaid Managed Care Saved Pennsylvania $5.9 Billion Over The Past Decade, According to MCO Analysis
Share HealthChoices, Pennsylvania’s Medicaid physical health managed care program, has saved the state up to $5.9 billion since 2000 according to an analysis by the state’s Medicaid managed care organizations (MCO). The savings estimate is in comparison to what the state would have spent for fee-for-service (FFS) Medicaid services. The comparison included costs for people with disabilities receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments and people enrolled in Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).
