New Maine Law Requires Health Plans to Cover Telemedicine Services

OPEN MINDS Weekly News Wire Strategic Health Care News On June 11, 2009, Maine Governor John E. Baldacci signed a bill (LD 1073) requiring health insurance providers to cover services provided through interactive audio, video or other electronic media; the new law also states that the telemedicine services must be provided at the same rates as in-person consultation.
