Louisiana Blue Cross Plan To Provide Telehealth Benefit For Plan With Medical Homes
On June 5, 2013, BlueCross and BlueShield of Louisiana (BCBSLA) announced plans to offer a telehealth benefit starting in the fall of 2013 for members of its new Quality Blue Primary Care (QBPC) plan. QBPC is a patient-centered medical home arrangement that pays physicians for coordinating patients’ care and focusing on patient wellness. QBPC members will be able to consult their doctors via iPad, iPhone, Android devices, and webcam-equipped PCs.
