According to data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Office of the Actuary, between fiscal year (FY) 2011 and FY 2012, Medicaid enrollments are projected to increase 1.5% and state spending on Medicaid is projected to increase by 18%. In FY 2011, Medicaid enrollment was estimated at 55.4 million and for FY 2012 is projected to increase to 56.2 million.
