Hospitals Face Average $2,523 Per-Bed Medicare Penalty For Readmissions & Low Patient Satisfaction
In federal fiscal year 2013, hospitals may face Medicare reimbursement penalties averaging an estimated $2,523 per-bed under the Medicare Value-Based Purchasing program and readmission penalty provisions in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, according to a recent report from CipherHealth, LLC.
