Wisconsin Juvenile Justice Review Commission Recommends Closing Either Ethan Allen or Lincoln Hills Facility

OPEN MINDS Weekly News Wire Social Services On June 15, 2010, the Wisconsin Juvenile Justice Review Commission, established by Governor Jim Doyle, recommended that the state close the Ethan Allen School (EAS) or Lincoln Hills School (LHS). The committee also considered the possible development of smaller regional detention centers in the state to improve transitions from the Wisconsin Department of CorrectionsÂ’ Division of Juvenile Corrections (DJC) and considered opportunities to continue to expand utilization of alternative placement resources and community-based services to address the needs of juveniles. The report was presented to Governor Doyle who is reviewing the recommendations . . .
