Full Deployment of Health Information Technology Could Cut $322 Billion From U.S. Health Expenditures by 2019

OPEN MINDS Weekly News Wire Strategic Health Care News Savings of $332 billion in national health expenditure could be achieved between 2009 and 2019 by making better use of technology and streamlining administrative processes. About half the savings would go to hospitals, 20% to the federal government’s Medicare and Medicaid programs, and 30% to commercial payers.
