Most Of Recent Increase In Medicare In Consumers With Chronic Conditions
From 2008 to 2010, total Medicare payments for Part A benefits increased by 5.2%, from $2,945 per enrollee in 2008 to $3,070 in 2010. About $4.1 billion (98%) of the increase was for the care of beneficiaries with two or more chronic conditions. In the same period, total payments for Part B benefits increased by 10.7%, from $3,640 per enrollee in 2008 to $4,015 in 2010.
