More Than Half Of Office-Based Physicians Had Adopted Electronic Health Records In 2011
In 2011, about 55% of office-based physicians treating ambulatory patients had adopted an electronic health record system (EHRs). Of those physicians who had implemented an EHR, 77% reported that their system meets federal Meaningful Use criteria. Within the next year, nearly half of office-based physicians without an EHR plan to purchase or start using one already purchased.
