Blood Test For Schizophrenia Now Available

OPEN MINDS Weekly News Wire Hot News In late March 2010, Rules Based Medicine, Inc., (RBM) launched commercial sales of VeriPsych, a newly developed blood test designed to help physicians diagnose patients with recent-onset schizophrenia. The test identifies the presence of protein markers indicating a likelihood of schizophrenia. VeriPsych is a lab developed test (LDT) similar to other diagnostic tests, such as Pap smears, microbiology cultures and sensitivities; and genetic tests, such as those for breast cancer susceptibility.
