Health IT Mergers/Acquisitions During The First Half Of 2013 Up 16%

During the first half of calendar year 2013, health information technology (IT) companies were involved in 63 merger or acquisition transactions. This transaction volume was 16% higher than during 2012. The total transaction value was more than $8 billion. The $8 billion deal value represented a 58% increase over the $5 billion deal value in the second half of 2012.
