Medicaid Beneficiaries Report Better Health & Increased Happiness Compared To The Uninsured

When granted access to Medicaid, low-income childless adults reported that they were in better heath and were happier than those individuals who do not have health insurance. Medicaid beneficiaries were also 25% less likely to screen positive for depression than individuals without health insurance. These adults were 25% more likely to indicate that that they are in good, very good, or excellent health (as opposed to "fair" or "poor health") and 30% more likely to report that they are pretty happy or very happy (as opposed to "not too happy").
