Oregon Health Plan Restructures With Behavioral Health Integrated Into Managed Care Organizations
The Oregon Health Authority (OHA) is planning to consolidate service regions for its Medicaid managed care organizations (MCOs) to create coordinated physical, mental, and dental care systems that provide integrated care. The consolidation is expected to save the state $700 million or more over the next two years. The consolidation was among the health system transformation provisions of House Bill (HB) 3650 of 2011, which was signed by Governor John Kitzhaber on July 1, 2011.
