University of New Mexico to Use ValueOptions Grant to Launch Psychiatry Telehealth Network
OPEN MINDS On-Line News Industry Newsmakers On July 29, 2008, ValueOptions New Mexico gave $767,192 to the University of New Mexico (UNM) Health Sciences Centers telepsychiatry program to launch the Psychiatry Telehealth Network. The network will use real-time video conferencing technology to bring behavioral health services to remote, underserved areas of the state. The funds will be used to develop telehealth services across the state by adding mental health service providers and developing reimbursement methods for the services to ensure sustainability.
