Milliman IntelliScript Receives One Million Insurer Risk-Assessment Queries for Electronic Health Data
OPEN MINDS On-Line News Strategic Health Care News Milliman IntelliScript, an electronic health tool which provides consumersÂ’ personal drug profiles to insurers, receives about one million requests annually for profiles from individual health insurers. The tool draws information from commercial prescription medication databases kept by pharmacy benefit managers to develop a health profile on individual consumers. Health and life insurance companies use the information to assess an applicantÂ’s risk profile. Formerly assessments were developed by reviewing an applicantÂ’s medical records.
