August 26, 2002 Four Maryland Counties Receive HUD Vouchers Four Maryland counties received more than $2 million in Housing Choice Vouchers from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, according to the Baltimore Business News. The vouchers, distributed by local housing agencies in each county, help low-income families rent apartments or buy homes. The vouchers are a part of HUD's 2002 budget. Recipients include: The Harford County Housing Authority received about $400,000 for 88 rental-assistance vouchers. The county's voucher program helps more than 737 families rent or buy homes.
