Geographic variation and utilization patterns affect health care spending in commercial health insurance plans for both people under age 65 and people 65 and older in 2009. This variation in spending ranged from a low of $2,636 in total annual per-capita spending in Ogden-Clearfield, Utah; to a high in per capital spending of $7,231 in Anderson, Indiana.
