Joint Commission to Accredit Medical Homes in 2011

OPEN MINDS Weekly News Wire Strategic Health Care News In 2011, The Joint Commission plans to offer accreditation for medical home programs operated by ambulatory organizations. According to the organization’s September 7, 2010 announcement, draft standards for the “Primary Care Home” option are expected to be available for field input later in 2010. Pilot testing is slated for early 2011 and the final standards are anticipated in Spring 2011. On-site surveys are expected to start in July 2011.
