September 29, 2003 Unanswered Florida DCF Hotline Calls at Highest Level in Past Year   In August 2003, one month after the Department of Children and Families (DCF) made its new computer system, called HomeSafenet, available in all 67 Florida counties, the number of calls to 800-96ABUSE that went unanswered rose to its highest level in more than a year. The percentage of unanswered calls in August, 6.9%, was almost double the percentage for July, 3.5%. 2462 calls didn’t go through – up from 1261 the previous month - according to an article in the September 16, 2003 edition . . .
