1.3 Billion People Worldwide Projected To Have Diabetes By 2050
The number of people worldwide with diabetes is projected to more than double in the next three decades, reaching 1.3 billion by 2050. In 2021, approximately 529 million people had diabetes. The expected increase would cause the worldwide prevalence to rise from 6% in 2021 to nearly 10% of the expected world population in 2050.
