NQF Releases 18 New Quality Measures for Medication ManagementTwo Set Standards for Antipsychotic Medications
OPEN MINDS Weekly News Wire Strategic Health Care News The National Quality Forum (NQF) has endorsed 18 measures to manage over-the-counter and prescription medications; two of the measures directly address schizophrenia. In general, the measures assess prescribing, use of appropriate medications, medication adherence, reconciliation, and monitoring for a range of conditions where lack of adherence is common and often results in severe adverse outcomes. In addition to schizophrenia, the measures address diabetes, asthma, coronary artery disease, kidney disease, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
