Survey: HIPAA Privacy Tops Compliance Officers' Worry List
Sixty-two percent of the health care compliance officers responding to a recent survey said the privacy regulation of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) is their biggest challenge this year. Eighty-four percent said it will be their biggest concern through 2004. Those were among the findings of the Health Care Compliance Association's fourth annual profile of compliance officers, released in October 2001.
