Michigan Argues Market Selection Of Specialty PHPs Is Impractical
OPEN MINDS On-Line News In its final version of the Revised Plan For Procurement Of Medicaid Specialty Prepaid Health Plans (PHPs), the Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) argues that efforts to meet the federal requirements for competitive procurement of the PHPs using market selection are both impractical and undesirable. The revised plan was issued by MDCH the last week of September as part of its reapplication for the Medicaid managed care waiver that was issued by the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) in 1998.
