Employer-Sponsored Health Insurance Premiums Increased 8% Since 2010
Share Single coverage premiums for employer sponsored health insurance plans in 2011 are an average of eight percent higher than in 2010, increasing from $5,049 to $5,429. Family premiums increased by nine percent, from $13,770 to $15,073. These are findings of “2011 Employer Health Benefits Survey,” an annual report by the Kaiser Family Foundation/Health Research and Educational Trust. The survey, the 13th since 1998, includes responses from small and large employers about trends in private health insurance costs and coverage.
