Federal HHS Launches Smoking Cessation mHealth Initiatives

Share On September 19, 2011, the federal Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) launched a new mobile health (mhealth) initiative to increase the use of mhealth services to aid in smoking cessation. The initiatives were spurred by recommendations from the Text4Health task force. HHS established the department-wide Text4Health Task Force in November 2010 to identify ongoing initiatives and proposals for new mHealth projects.
