Sony Acquires Micronics to Accelerate Point-of-Care Diagnostic Device Development
Share On September 28, 2011, Sony Corporation of America (SCA) acquired Micronics, Inc., which makes near patient Point-of-Care devices for disease diagnosis, treatment monitoring, and blood testing. Sony said it acquired Micronics to accelerate its own research and development for Point-of-Care diagnostic equipment and to accelerate commercialization of these products. Financial terms of the acquisition were not provided. Micronics will be a wholly owned SCA subsidiary.
