Michigan Seeking Two Federal Waivers As Part Of Medicaid Expansion
On September 16, 2013, Michigan Governor Rick Snyder signed legislation to implement the Healthy Michigan plan, which will expand Medicaid to uninsured non-disabled adults under age 65 with income at or below 133% of the federal poverty level (FPL). The legislation, House Bill No. 4714, makes additional changes to Michigan’s Medicaid program and also requires the state to seek waivers needed to begin its demonstration integrated care project by July 2014 for Medicaid beneficiaries dually eligible for Medicare.
