November 5, 2007 Alaska DHHS Planning 44-Bed Youth Psychiatric Facility in Eklutna The Alaska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) plans to construct a $21 million, 44-bed facility on a 20-acre site in Eklutna to provide treatment for children with emotional and mental health problems. The funding will be divided equally among state grants, the Denali Commission federal funding, and the Southcentral Foundation. The plan is part of the “Bring the Kids Home” project, which was created in 2004 with the goal of providing more in-state psychiatric services. The DHHS hopes this facility will help . . .
