35% Of Hospitals Make Performance Bonus Payments To Medical Directors
About 35% of hospitals offered their medical directors performance bonuses during 2012, according to a survey of 179 health care organizations on medical director compensation. In 2011, 27% of hospitals offered performance bonuses to medical directors. Of those organizations that offered performance bonuses to medical directors in 2012, the average value of the bonus was less than 10% of salary.
