Half of Health Care Executives Using Patient Satisfaction in Physician Incentives
Half of hospital or health care system executives use patient satisfaction scores and 57% use quality of care metrics as a basis for physician incentive payments, according to a recent survey on physician compensation strategies. Productivity measures were most common component of physician incentives, cited by 75% of the survey responses. Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement changes were cited as the primary influence on physician compensation structures at 76% the organizations surveyed and 59% also cited health care reform as a major influence.
