OPEN MINDS On-Line News Strategic Health Care News On October 15, 2008, the “Ryan Haight Online Pharmacy Consumer Protection Act of 2008” (Act) was signed into law to regulate sales of controlled substances by on-line pharmacies. Consumers must have a valid prescription for controlled substances from a physician or a covering practitioner who conducted an in-person examination at least once.
