Indiana Medicaid to Pay for Assisted Living Programs
November 12, 2001 Indiana Medicaid to Pay for Assisted Living Programs For the first time, Indiana Medicaid will pay for assisted living programs for some elderly or disabled people who need more care than they can get at home, but not as much as nursing homes provide. Participants must be eligible for Medicaid, and applications will be taken by Area Agencies on Aging around the state. The program will start small and grow, depending on available funds. State officials say 350 people could participate in the program this fiscal year, followed by 1,050 the next year and 2,250 . . .
