November 25, 2002 Texas Hospital Association Promotes First Hospital Consumer Comparison Report The state-mandated Indicators of Inpatient Care report, released last month by the Texas Health Care Information Council (THCIC), used patient billing records to compare how well 351 hospitals handled 25 medical conditions or surgical procedures, including treatments for heart attacks, strokes and abdominal aneurysms. The report provides consumers with reliable and comparable data on hospitals throughout the state.
