161 Inpatient Psych Hospitals Earn Joint Commission ‘Top Performer’ Status In 2013
In 2013, The Joint Commission recognized 161 inpatient psychiatric hospitals as “Top Performers” based on their 2012 performance on key accountability measures for evidence-based care processes linked to positive patient outcomes for people receiving inpatient psychiatric care. The measures address admission screening, care planning, transitions, use of multiple antipsychotic medications concurrently, and the use of physical restraint and seclusion. The Top Performers used the recommended care processes 95% of the time.
