Medicare Pilot Program Permits Hospitals To Report Meaningful Use Clinical Quality Measures Electronically
Under a new Medicare pilot program beginning in 2012, hospitals and critical access hospitals will be able to report their clinical quality measures (CQMs) by using their electronic health record (EHR). CQMs are part of the set of 14 core measures that all hospitals are required to meet as part of the meaningful use incentive program requirements. Currently, hospitals must manually calculate and attest their CQM results.
