CMS Pays Out Incentives of $92 Million to 2008 Physician Quality Reporting Initiative Participants
OPEN MINDS Weekly News Wire Strategic Health Care News In 2008 the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) paid physicians and other eligible professionals more than $92 million in incentives under the Physician Quality Reporting Initiative (PQRI). The average incentive payment was about $1,000; the largest payment was more than $98,000. Health practices with participating eligible professionals in Florida and Illinois received the highest incentive payments for the 2008 PQRI.
