Texas Medicaid Medication Therapy Management Pilot Reports ROI Of $3 Savings For Each $1 Spent
During the first five months of operations, the Texas Medicaid Medication Therapy Management (MTM) pilot program generated a 3 to 1 return on investment (ROI). Preliminary results show that there has been $3 savings in avoided additional health care utilization for each $1 spent on program services and administration. This MTM pilot is a wellness program designed to build collaboration between physicians, pharmacists, and patients with hypertension and other chronic health conditions who take at least four maintenance medications.
