Seton Healthcare Family Adopts IBM Predictive Analytics Solution for Healthcare To Prevent Readmissions

On October 25, 2011, IBM announced that Seton Healthcare Family in Austin, Texas will be the first provider organization to employ IBM's new Content and Predictive Analytics for Healthcare software—which has analytic capability similar to IBM’s Watson technology. In combination with other health information technology products, Seton will use the analytics software, which converts unstructured data into structured data, to identify causes of readmissions with the goal of preventing them. Seton will initially apply the solution to congestive heart failure diagnoses. The goal will be to improve proactive management of CHF and possibly flag new risk factors . . .
