Dunkirk City in New York Launches Mental Health Court
OPEN MINDS On-Line News Social Services On December 4, 2008, the City of Dunkirk, New York, started a mental health court for adults with mental illness and a pending misdemeanor, felony and/or violation of probation charge filed in Dunkirk City Court. The voluntary Dunkirk City Mental Health Court (DCMHC) program requires that the participant be a legal resident of the United States and legally competent to plead guilty to the charge before entering the program.
