OPEN MINDS On-Line News Strategic Health Care News Between 2008 and 2012, the federal government will adhere to a strategic plan to ensure that health information technology (IT) is sufficiently developed to meet the goal that by 2014 the majority of U.S. citizens, including those with disabilities, chronic illness, or living in underserved areas, should have access to electronic health records (EHR) and other health IT.
