Feds To Operate Health Insurance Exchanges In 23 States
Nearly half of states (23) have announced that they will not operate a state-run health insurance exchange, meaning that the federal government will operate a health insurance exchange for state residents. The states had until December 14, 2012, to submit Blueprint applications to the federal Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) that described the states’ plans for operating a state-based exchange.
