December 26, 2005 Texas Department of Family and Protective Services Seeks to Improve Child Protective Services Department On December 9, 2005, the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) released a Request for Proposal (RFP 2006-0002) seeking technical solutions to improve investigations, supervision, and accountability. This RFP is the result of a September 2004 Child Protective Services (CPS) review that discovered high workloads had resulted in premature case closures. This procurement will enable CPS to focus on its primary mission of child safety. DFPS is encouraging vendors to propose creative approaches and solutions to meet the following goals . . .
