15 States Plan To Adopt New Medicaid Cost Containment Strategies For Home Care Services
Fifteen states plan to adopt new cost containment strategies for Medicaid home care costs in fiscal year 2026, according to a survey of the states and the District of Columbia.
Most Medicaid home care is provided through 1915(c) waivers, with some provided through 1115 waivers, and states can limit enrollment or spending under these waivers. About one-third of total Medicaid spending is for home care services.
