17% Of Japanese Adults With Chronic Pain Screen Positive For ADHD
Among Japanese adults with chronic pain, 17.1% screened positive for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), according to a recent study. The estimated ADHD prevalence among the general population of Japanese adults is 1.65%, compared to 17.1% among those with persistent chronic pain. The highest rate of ADHD-positive screenings, 27.4%, was among those who reported average pain levels of 9 or 10 on a 10-point pain severity scale.
