2023 Turnover At Behavioral Health Facilities Decreases To 27.5%

In 2023, the average turnover rate for behavioral health facilities support employees was 27.5%, down from 31.28% in 2022. Across eight job classifications, behavioral health facility staff turnover rates in 2023 range from an average of 17.5% for top-level executives to 33.0% for administrative support personnel.

Based on responses to a survey conducted by Hospital & Healthcare Compensation Service (HHCS) with 31,361 employees at 462 behavioral health facilities, 11.7% said that turnover at their organization had increased, and 55.5% said that turnover stayed the same.
