One-Fifth Of Those With I/DD Receiving Day Supports Participated In Integrated Employment
In 2021, about 21.1% of adults with an intellectual/developmental disability (I/DD) who received employment or day supports were participating in an integrated employment service setting. This compares to 2018 when about 24% were participating in an integrated employment service setting.
An integrated employment program provides supports so that people with disabilities are able to work alongside people without disabilities. Integrated employment programs help the participants secure competitive jobs at market wages. The programs provide preparation, transportation, job coaching and one-on-one support.
