43% Of People Age 50 & Older Think They Will Need Long-Term Care In The Future
Less than half of people aged 50 and older (43%) think it is likely they will need long-term care in the future, according to a recent University of Michigan National Poll on Healthy Aging. Out of all survey responses, 45% of respondents said their need for long-term care “seems too far off” to make plans for it, and 48% said they do not know how to plan for their long-term care needs. The researchers said that poll responses highlight major gaps in planning and preparedness for long-term care among adults aged 50 years and older.
