44 Oregon Health Care Systems & Payers Join Compact To Move 70% Of Payments To VBP By 2024
On April 8, 2021, the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) along with the Oregon Health Leadership Council (OHLC) announced that 44 organizations including Oregon health systems and commercial health insurers signed a voluntary compact to advance value-based payments (VBP). The agreement targets moving to 70% of payments following advanced VBP methods by 2024 and supports the work of the cost growth target program, which is beginning implementation in 2021. The goal is to improve health care quality and control health care cost growth. The participating organizations provide or pay for care for about two-thirds of state residents.
