Almost Half of All Medicare Beneficiaries Enrolled In Medicare Advantage In 2023

In 2023, almost half (48%) of all Medicare beneficiaries are enrolled in a Medicare Advantage (MA) plan (30.7 million of the total 64.0 million beneficiaries). Between 2022 and 2023, the number of Medicare beneficiaries increased by nearly 2.1%, from 62.6 million to 63.9 million. In 2023, the number enrolled in a MA plan increased from about 28.2 million of 62.6 million MA members in 2022 (45%) to 30.7 million of 63.9 million MA members in 2023 (48%).
