52% Of I/DD Provider Organizations Considering Cuts To Programs If Workforce Challenges Don’t Subside
A total of 52% of provider organizations that provide direct care services to people with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) were considering cuts to programs if workforce recruitment and retention challenges fail to subside, according to a recent survey report from ANCOR, the American Network of Community Options and Resources. Staff turnover rates are near 40% nationally, with vacancy rates between 12% and 15%.
Among provider organizations that made program cuts and discontinued existing services, residential habilitation services were the most commonly cut (cited by 44% of respondents). Additional findings include:
